Shellback Pictures Needed


So, as many of us sailors know, Navy Shellback Initiation is dying. I really think this ceremony is going to go before chief’s initiation and some would argue that it has already gone away. I’m starting a new photo gallery and want to add pictures of various shellback initiations throughout history. The Origin of the Crow


Many years ago a Captain aboard one of the finest wooden Navy vessels was revolutionizing the way things would be run. This was shortly after the rank of Petty Officer was created so the Captain insisted to find a way of separating his appointed men over those they were to serve over.
